Welcome to Magic and Tech

Well, here we are. Our first blog post for what we hope will become our first miniature war-game series. Who is us? Well, to be honest, me. My name is Kevin Fischer and I am the sole person who runs The Officer Factory; a war-game miniature painting service.
Magic and Tech is labeled as a fantasy world setting in a near-future time frame with a sci-fi twist. Huh? Let's look at the scale of things.
Star Trek is pure sci-fi. Star Wars is sci-fi with fantasy elements but is like 75% sci-fi. Lord of the Rings is like 100% fantasy. Magic and Tech is 65% fantasy with 35% sci-fi mixed in. What does that mean?
Magic and Tech takes place in a fantasy world, as stated. It primarily follows the nation of Narata, a nation in the north of the continent Certau that is mostly occupied by the Penar Providence. For 1500 years, they have tried and failed repeatedly to take over Narata.
Narata is made up of exiles and refugees who were displaced by the Penar Providence. This includes humans, elves, dwarven, orcs, fairies, etc. Fast forward the clock 1500 years and all that fighting had lead to technological breakthroughs in a bid to stay ahead of the Penars.
In a fantasy world setting, we rarely see the us elf gunpowder weapons. Magic and Tech skips all that and goes straight towards modern day "assault" rifles, Anti-tank guided missiles, attack helicopters, close air support, a highly equipped and ultra-modern military force. What does this mean for the creatures we are use to seeing in fantasy setting games and such?
For the most part, dragons and other monstrous creatures are gonna be rare to never seen on the battlefield again. Magic still has its part but not in the form we are use to seeing. I am borrowing the concept of Strike Witches; an anime that strikes that fusion of magic and technology but in an alternate history world.
The Combat Witches are not the core of the Narration army but they are an element that I believe will bring interest and make this game stand out. Very few games include this mecha musume genre ( ).
The rules are being developed as for game scale and figure material is still being thought up of. This is an extremely new game that will require some input from those who are interested but most of all, funding. My funding to bring this about is very limited. It is therefore the immediate goal to create initial concept drawings to bring about this project to life and to attract new attention and interest. If any of you are interested and wish to see this succeed, please go here https://www.patreon.com/MagicandTech.
We hope that in 1 to 3 years, we will launch our kickstarter!

Wow. It's been a long time since I last updated this blog. Anyway, the rules are FINALLY being written but as of now, are not yet comple...
